ABOUT BGDL & ITS FOUNDER

BGDL's founder, Destiny Williams, believed that the legal industry was lacking a specific and safe place for black women in the legal profession. There were an abundance of black lawyer organizations, as well as, female/women lawyer spaces, but little to no spaces dedicated specifically for BLACK women in the legal profession. While some legal organizations only cater to law students and/or attorneys, BGDL welcomes ALL black women in the legal industry - regardless of where you are in your journey. This includes black women who are paralegals, legal assistants, attorneys, judges, law students, law professors, and aspiring law students.

BGDL is a community organization aimed towards empowering, supporting, and promoting black women legal professionals. BGDL's goal is to network, connect, and offer mentorship.
